RECENT ATTACKS ON SEX WORKERS ANONYMOUS

Some of you who know me both personally, and through Sex Workers Anonymous, know that I do volunteer paralegal work for sex workers who can't get any help except through a pro bono attorney. Those pro bono attorneys need paralegal help - someone to draft all those motions and briefs that have to be filed. These are cases the attorneys would not be able to take without someone like myself providing these cases with free paralegal support. Back about January, I started getting calls from attorneys who wanted to take some cases pro bono, but didn't want to commit unless they knew I would help them. I agreed, and I was no prepared for what hit my desk from multiple attorneys. All of the cases shared the rape of a woman or transgender by sheriffs, guards, and LAPD officers. To see how out of control this culture has gotten lately, even Maxine Waters is calling upon the feds to help do something. https://www.dailynews.com/2021/07/21/rep-maxine-waters-asks-for-federal-probe-of-alleged-sheriffs-department-gang-in-compton/ Since Maxine was the ONE person I say giving 'em hell about Iran Contra once Gary Webb came forward verifying what was going on - and this took YEARS to bring all the evidence together he did, and he only touched upon the tip of the iceberg (that's probably why he was murdered - I mean who can kill themselves with TWO shotgun blasts to the head?). This one sheriff alone, Giancarlo Scotti, has had MULTIPLE complaints of rape, and that's just from those who were willing to come forward. Another case was that of a woman who was incarcerated, then taken to the mental ward by this guard, who then locked her into the ward and raped her - probably confident that most people wouldn't believe her because of her mental health issues. I've also met people who have had their neck broken by one of these guy's chokeholds, then forced to take medication against their will which STILL has them messed up mentally. One reason why you guys, you have to be easier on survivors of this kind of abuse because sometimes the damage is real, and the effects can last a lifetime. To top off the tank, Carlos Bolanos is running for sheriff again of San Mateo in 2022 - that's after the whole Operation Dollhouse scandal. He's now been meeting with Chinese speaking officers, and Chinese business leaders, and this is AFTER he was caught in Operation Dollhouse. I don't know what he did for did not do there as no one thought to pull the tape out of the cab he was in that would have cleared his name instantly if they had, but what I DO care about is that 24 Chinese women, along with a pregnant juvenile, were sent back into the arms of their pimps, and right back to work in that illegal brothel where they were not allowed to leave that house, nor see anyone but patrons from China, brought to them by cab drivers who verified these men were in fact from China. What I DO care about is that he knew these women had been let go back to these pimps so his case could be dropped - YET HE DID NOTHING TO GO BACK AND HELP THOSE WOMEN. THAT'S what i care about. He could be a totally innocent bystander for all I know in the wrong place at the wrong time - but the fact he knew about these women, and then did NOTHING after he got off scott free - THAT'S what bothers me. It shows a real lack of regard for these women, but yet he's been the one in charge of their Asian sex trafficking task force? Wow. Talk about putting the fox in charge of the chicken coop! Again, not for the arrest, but over the fact he did not go back to help those women knowing what the situation was for them. The fact I've been falsely accused of something with a complaint coincidentlly filed by the same prosecutor who got the charges dropped against Bolanos and Munks when I've never been to San Mateo, nor have I done any paralegal work for anyone in San Mateo, I"m sure it's just a coincidence that in the whole world - I've only been accused of this by that particular DA. Got it. Which I'm sure is why I've now had four attorneys I've hired to deal with it scared off my case. But that doesn't mean there aren't a lot of sheriffs right now who would LOVE to see me arrested over something right? Which might explain why I was seeing the profile of a woman on Twitter who was CLEARLY talking about engaging in illegal sex in the USA on an account she had called Sex Workers Anonymous. Now coincidently I'm sure, this is happening at the very same time Twitter is being audited for charges of sex trafficking on their platform right? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-08-20/twitter-faces-claim-it-benefited-from-child-sex-trafficking So just as this case is coming forward, I find this woman using the name of Sex Workers Anonymous in a USA based account where she's clearly talking about engaging in illegal prostitution. With my criminal history, I could be accused of even "pimping" this woman, so I asked her to please stop using that name. I showed her evidence I ran a group called this, it was a real group, and taht she was basically making it look like Narcotics Anonymous was engaging in drug dealing online with what she was doing. She then told me to blow it out my ass a few times, so I had to get harsher with her. Because of the Twitter suit, and because I know I"m being monitored closely all the time online, I warned her she didn't want this kind of heat on her considering she was clearly engaging in illegal prostitution. She STILL told me to blow it out my ass. I then BEGGED her to not make me file a formal complaint - because if I had to file a complaint with Twitter, then Twitter would go and review all of her posts, and it wouldn't look good for her. I then BEGGED her to stop so that I did not have to take legal steps about it. I explained I couldn't just "let it go" because she was drawing heat not just onto me, but onto everyone in SWA with what she was doing. She finally agreed - and then changed the name. Fine right? Done right? Nope. Because in comes a herd of other accounts, all in Canada (thereby knowing there's a whole other process I have to go through to file suit against anyone in Canada), and THEY all start changing their names to Sex Workers Anonymous, AND talking about illegal prostitution. Great. Now it looks like SWA is running an escort service out of Twitter. I took the time to try and explain to everyone they were drawing heat on myself, the members of SWA, AND themselves if they didn't stop using this name. And they just started challenging more and more people to change their name until last count was about 20 accounts talking about illegal prostitution on Twitter with their profile name as Sex Workers Anonymous. Most of them demanded to see our trademark. I'm sorry, but that has the legal names of people along with their addresses, and I"m not turning that over to publicly post on Twitter. That's as crazy as posting my drivers license on Twitter - not happening. I told them if they had a legal right to see that paperwork, have their attorney contact me. I found it interesting they just kept it up - saying they'd only stop when they saw our legal paperwork. The last time I posted an address on social media - I had people sitting outside my mailbox waiting for me to show up to do who knows what to me. Since I got calls from other sex workers telling me the women involved in that threat were seriously dangerous, I don't think they did this to invite me to coffee. I abandoned that box and never went back after that! Because I have good reason not to be posting our legal information where just anyone can see it. Just as why California passed a law you don't have to post your real home address on your drivers license - because there's stalkers! And right now the trolls are out in force! One of the SWA members then tried to talk to these people - who then accused her of being me. Jeez, paranoid much? I'm sure I can set up multiple accounts to do this when Twitter will only let me have one account per cell phone - so I have one account for work and one account for SWA - and the work account has NOTHING to do with sex workers! Which is all they do - when other people try to defend me, they just accuse them of being me like I can even get that many accounts off one phone! It's also frankly very discounting of the real sex workers who are trying to voice their concerns honestly. Like somehow accusing them of being "Jody" makes it right what they're doing. It's not right. If someone tells you what you're doing can get them in jail wrongfully, then you're not a membet of this community in my opinion - you're just dangerous and reckless with our lives - and that's just not okay. So if you see someone using the Sex Workers Anonymous profile that's not us and talking like they're engaging in prostitition, you give them a piece of your mind and block them because they obviously don't care very much about our safety. I just want to post that I have NOTHING to do with these accounts, and they aren't listening to me about dropping the name. I'm left with no choice but to notify Twitter and law enforcement that we are not associated with these accounts. I'm going to give it until Monday in the hopes they come to their senses however before I'm left with no choice. These people also brought my work and my personal hobbies into this sex worker account - and that's not cool. A LOT of things are public records these days - that doesn't mean it's okay to blast in all over where a bunch of crazy johns also read these posts. Not cool at all.

ALTERNATIVE SENTENCING, DIVERSION, EARLY RELEASE & RE-ENTRY PROGRAMS

If you are currently incarcerated on a prostitution charge, then we may be able to help you get out of jail and into a program of some kind - whether that program be a drug treatment program, mental health treatment, or one that specializes in helping sex workers. So far, each person who has asked us to help them get released from jail and into another program, or even "house arrest", we've been able to do this. The court has always been receptive of sending someone on a prostitution conviction into some kind of "treatment" or even home so they can be with their children, as long as SWA is overseeing things. This may include a once a week phone meeting. Every case is different. So we may be able to help you get out of jail early. If you're in jail, and don't have anywhere to go upon release but maybe back to a pimp, and if you don't want to do that, we can assist you with re-entry support. Each person we've helped to get into re-entry, we've had someone from SWA meet them upon release at the door of the jail, take you either to an apartment we've arranged for you, or maybe to another half-way house, or even treatment if that's what you want to do. We have arranged jobs and/or work/study programs so you can start making money right away. If you have children, we can help you with that as well so you don't lose your kids. So we can help you with re-entry. If you have been arrested for a prostitution charge, contact us immediately. If you have a public defender, have them contact us immediately, and give them consent to speak to us. In each case so far where we've talked to the judge on your behalf, and shown them our proven statistics on how effective our program is with aiding you in quitting sex work, we've been able to get the court to suspend sentence until you've completed a certain number of meetings with us, or maybe worked off some community service hours. We've even had some courts deliver the person out of handcuffs in the court room right into our custody. This means local SWA members as we have members all over the USA who wish to remain "anonymous", but they work through SWA so that they can protect their new lives while helping you avoid jail - because jail doesn't help anyone. Especially during Covid. During Covid, the courts SHOULD be using us so that you don't go to jail. That really doesn't help them stop the spread of this disease. As long as you don't have a violent charge of some kind, there should be no problem with getting you court ordered into our program instead of jail, and then after having spent a certain amount of time with us, we've been able to have the court completely expunge (clear) your record so you don't have any charges showing up on your name when you're doing future job hunting. If enough people have been arrested on a prostitution charge, the court may allow us to set up a diversion program. This just means you attend phone meetings of www.sexworkersanonymous.net, which is a group of ex-sex workers, which are only about 90 minutes long. If you have community service or even restitution to work off, we can ususally get the court to accept you working those hours of with us. We then have you doing outreach into your local community, or even on the phone long distance if you have reasons you don't want to do local outreach, and after we verify these hours, we give you a letter to give the court. This can help you avoid having to pay off fees in cash as many courts will let you work those off with community service. As you know, avoiding jail when arrested for prostitution means you can keep your home, your kids, possibly even your marriage. Since we do not charge you for any of this support, you don't have to worry about raising any cash to get help from us. Just give us a call or email with your situation, show us your court papers so we know what the court wants for you, and we can help you. The last big case we had handed to us was a woman who ran a legal escort service. The court charged her with a bunch of things even though she was licensed and had acted legally. These were felony charges which she was able to avoid prison time over simply by doing outreach for www.sexworkersanonymous.net So call us or shoot us an email to officialsexworkersanonymous@gmail.com and let's see how we can help you. If you have parents who don't know what to do about the situation, we have booklets we can give them as well which will help them know how best to provide you with support during this time.

COVID RELIEF

If you're wanting to stop any form of sex work because you're afraid of HIV/AIDS, then we have sponsors who have offered to give salaries, which are grants so you don't have to pay them back, of $1000 a week, sometimes more, to do outreach into the community to get more COVID information, education, testing, etc., back into the community. You do not have to make any promise to "quit". An alcoholic can't "promise to quit" as sobriety is "just for today". So if you have a desire to stop sex work now, for Covid or whatever your reasons are, then we can arrange to get you a salary/sponsorship that will pay you a starting point of $1000 a week to do outreach back into the community. This is how we got many out of sex work during the HIV/AIDS crisis - we know you don't have a big savings account or retirement plan, so you need to make money, and make money now. One time grants for $200 which some sex worker groups are offering, aren't going to cut it. Nor are we going to make you "prove" you were a sex worker, which in the USA is insane and a violation of your 5th amendment constitutional right to not incriminate yourself. So we do not make these grants dependent upon you handing over basically a "confession" of illegal activity, which the prosecutor can then take up to two years to issue a warrant out for your arrest, to obtain this grant. All you need to do is show us your willingness to do outreach to other sex workers, and get them Covid education and testing, and we can get you started on this grant. If at that time, you choose to get help from the vocational rehabilitation office, where they give you job training, scholarships, etc., we can get you also assistance for job training so you don't have to go back to sex work if you don't want to. We take no position either way. It's your choice if you want to do sex work or not. We are just here to help you if you choose to exit with support and resources. We say this because it's very common for your "friends" to suddenly abandon you the second you even talk about quitting. It's like the alcoholic who starts to get sober, and then his friends feel like "you're no fun" and suddenly they're without friends. We are here for you as a person, and your choices are up to you. No judgments here. But if you want to do something else during this pandemic, we can get you these grants. Your outreach work can be done many ways. One way is to hold a workshop for local sex workers, or those on your social media, teaching them about Covid safety, prevention, and also to support them getting tested. Another way is doing workshops in your local area to bring in not only doctors who are favorable to help sex workers to teach them safer ways to not catch anything, but also to get them tested in a safe environment. These workshops can also introduce sex workers to local therapists who are supportive of sex workers, self-defense teachers, criminal and/or family law attorneys willing to do pro bono work, and basically just introduce the sex worker to local resources they may find useful that are non-judgmental towards sex workers.
